Newsweek is reporting that Google Fiber is building its own internet service to compete with Amazon Fiber.
Google Fiber says it is building the service, and that it is targeting “low-cost” homes, but there are no details about how it plans to operate.
Google’s announcement comes just a day after Comcast announced it was going to buy Time Warner Cable for $45 billion.
Both companies have been looking to expand their fiber networks.
The two companies are also investing heavily in TV and broadband infrastructure.
